  3. DeSousa is now tied for 10th in the league in blocked shots. Pretty amazing considering how little he played for 2/3s of the season...
  4. Bing announcers seem convinced that Sessoms is the best rookie in the league and already has ROY won.
  5. Can't believe that the final regular season game is now here. It is a sad day for us fans. The playoffs are great and I am excited to see if we can make it to the championship game. Doing that, much less making the big dance, would be an incredible over achievement for this team, and exciting to watch, but it is still a depressing thought. I follow LAX and football, but the hardwood is still my spectator sport of choice. Today symbolizes the end of what I waited all spring, summer, and fall for. While tonight means nothing for the standings, it is still a big game for the team. Momentum for the playoffs is at stake. Healy winning ROY might be at stake. Win lose or draw: Thank you to the team for providing us with endless distraction for 5 months.
  6. My assumption is that the suspension will last as long as the investigation takes to prove he wasn't paid for any endorsement he may have given the company. Definitely a stupid reason for a suspension, but what if Zion Williamson tweeted about his shoes and tagged Adidas saying he liked theirs better than the Nike shoe that ripped. What would the NCAA do then? These kids need to be trained about what they can and can not do publicly.
  7. I have been an ardent defender of Clark on the board all year because I do not see anyone put in the effort he does on every single play. He is the best ball handler, and the only one that effectively attacks. That said, there were at least 3 occasions during this game that you could see (and hear with the light crowd during the snowstorm) that Brown yelled at him telling him to think. Kid seems smart. Seems like a great teammate. Seems like a great talent. Someone just needs to work with him on the mental aspects of his game and getting him to trust his teammates more. He needs to learn to not go up in the air not knowing if he is going to shoot or if there someone available to pass to. Kid has been a baller who was the best player on the court one minute, then makes high school mistakes the next. We all have to remember hat while he is technically a junior, he is really a freshman when it comes to minutes. He barely played last year, and was stuck behind some pretty good players in high school. I still see him as a major part of the team, and one that will improve next season. I like him in the 6th/7th man spot. This year with Campbell, and next year with what I assume will be Doherty.
  8. If I happened to run into one of last night's officials at SEFCU, I would have had many more expletives to share than that article says McCaffrey used.
  9. If it holds, he also might have one of the top 5 FT% seasons in AE history... He is at 89% currently. Here are the top seasons: 1 Jermaine Anderson .9189 2005-06 New Hampshire 2 Jaleen Smith .9000 2015-16 New Hampshire 3 Aaron Calixte .8992 2017-18 Maine 4 Will Darley .8909 2016-17 Maryland-Baltimore County 5 Logan Aronhalt .8889 2011-12 Albany (NY) Four McGlynn .8889 2011-12 Vermont 7 Jason Grochowalski .8767 2003-04 Boston University 8 Mike Derocckis .8750 1998-99 Drexel 9 Lucas Woodhouse .8740 2016-17 Stony Brook 10 Justin Bailey .8724 1998-99 Hartford

  11. At this point, he has an outside shot at 2,000 points at UA even WITH a grad year transfer. For arguments sake give him 6 more games this season (saying UA makes the AE championship game and loses) and he averages 22 pts a game. He would finish the year at 600 points total, meaning he would need 1400 more, or 700 a season to get there in 3 years. Over the last 5 years or so, UA has averaged about 33 games a season. That means he would need to average 21.2 ppg over the next 2 seasons to get there by the end of his junior year Now that would be crazy. I really think that there is too much talent around him for him to average that many points per game, but it really isn't out of the question.
  12. I was saying the same thing just a bit ago. Clark was doing Clark things, but kicking out for an open shot instead of a crazy forced shot. When is the last time a UA player had 8 assists? If he can play like that for the remainder of the year, this team will be very hard to beat.
  13. I posted this thought on the AE board, and maybe it's just the booze and lack of sleep, but here is my bold prediction: UA can beat anyone in the AE this season if they have the right mindset and the shots fall, but as we have seen, they could also get blown out on any given night as well. That's what happens when you have only 1 player that saw any significant time last season and start 4 or 5 freshman. UA gets hot, finishes the season strong, and pulls the upset in the chip game at Patrick in typical Will Brown fashion. UA is rewarded with the PIG. The MAAC is terrible this season. The team currently in first (Canisius) and the team that has been in first for most of the season (Monmouth) both lost to UA big. LCC is currently 1 game out of first in the loss column. So..... When $iena wins their tournament we could end up with the Albany Cup game this season after all, just played in Dayton. Somebody pass the pipe lol.
  14. 100% That said, for someone like deSousa, it can give them a taste of the spotlight, and give them a confidence boost. It can be a reward for hard work.
  15. I think I recently saw an RFP for a fiber connection at SBU on the NYS Contract Reporter lol.
  16. Internet is down on SBU campus. 104.5 is doing the game via Roger Weilands cell phone. 5-3 UA winning currently.
  17. Clark starting on the bench. DeSousa starting at the 3. 5 Freshman tonight. Interesting.
  18. Take the poor season, add the pathetic football season, and you have lowered fan interest. Then add the extreme negativity of some of the people on the board and the post count goes down even further. We have been armchair coaches, made our assessments of what we think the team needs to do to be successful, and grown tired of the debates. At this point, all there is to do is sit back and watch. Trust that Brown will make adjustments over the next few weeks, and hope they are playing their best come tournament time. Regardless of what the team does in these final games, they have the ability to be dangerous in the playoffs. As long as they don't finish 8th or 9th in the standings there is probably equal chance of seeing them get blown out in the first round, or playing on ESPN2 during championship weekend.
  19. They figured it out eventually, but ugly. All those turnovers halfway through the half would have been a deathnail against a better opponent.
  20. Wow. Nothing to say about this game. It's unwatchable at the moment.
  21. I'm not a lacrosse guy, but the commentator pointed out how Tehoka was just standing in the middle and not being involved. Not setting screens or playing as part of the team. Right after he said that, I watched him closely and there he was for the next few plays. Standing in the middle. Is that a normal position in LAX? Is it like posting up in basketball?
  22. I get that it is potentially a big issue and problem for the school that has to be worked out. I just got too tired of seeing the same post over and over again by the same person. It would be different if all the posts on that subject were in a thread about title ix, but they have seeped into so many other posts that it just got on my nerves.
