  1. UVM beat us by 29, and only beat Maine by 24. By extension, that doesn't bode well for us this weekend!
  2. You need a GDAC Pass to get into that section. Only people that get those are courtside season ticket holders and people that qualify at a certain GDAC level. It is unconfirmed what that level is, but I have heard it is $1,000 or more. I qualify for SEFCU lot parking at both basketball and football, but did not qualify for passes to this section, so I know it is above what I pay.
  3. People have made fun of me for making similar comments when talking about how to boost attendance. Saying the HOF room for a beer is fine. I know many people that do not go because they can not drink a beer and watch live action at the same time. Even some Siena haters saying they would rather see them at the TUC because they can bring a beer to their seat. Keeping it there and finding ways to allow more people in that section would be amazing. Maybe keep the area in the corner for the real high rollers with the buffet they offer, then make the baseline section a lower minimum donation to be able to enter. The place isn't selling out these days anyway. Might as well use the real estate if they have it.
  4. Clark has been by far the best player on the team all season. UVM made their entire defensive scheme around stopping him, and for the most part it worked. Double team Clark. Stop him. Make the rest of the team carry the load, as Clark has been the only guy able to create all season. It reminds me of the Patsos story when he was coaching at Loyola. They played against Davidson, and his whole game plan was to stop Steph Curry. His team was successful and held curry to 0 points. Loyola still lost by 30, but they were successful in stopping Curry! UA wasn't so luck last night when UVM stopped Clark... https://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/jimmy-patsos-the-man-whose-plan-kept-stephen-curry-scoreless-050813 So yes, Clark still starts. I just hope the rest of the team uses that loss as motivation, and Brown starts to give more time to deSousa, Lauderdale, and French.
  5. Like the football GDAC Section, you need to have a pass to enter the area. I believe all you need to get passes to the football one is season tickets and be a GDAC member with over $100 in donations in the last year (most season tix have mandatory donations so you instantly qualify). To get passes for basketball you need to be a higher roller when it comes to donations. Courtside season ticket holders and I people with higher level donations. I think it is $1,000 in donations in the last year, but I could be wrong. That was what someone was saying behind me last night.
  6. Has the greatness lives here tagline been used for anything other than athletics? If it was a new arena or renovations to the existing one and they wanted to keep it secret till then it probably wouldn't be shared from athletics as that would give it away.
  7. So all of the teams D1 wins in the OOC were against MAAC teams? Awesome. There was a lot to complain about in the OOC, but the team has, and will continue to, improve, but this is a great silver lining. The one MAAC loss to Iona could have easily been a win. Time to show growth and show the AE this will be a contending team with a win against UVM at home.
  8. I've listened to some bad play by play guys before. Some major homers. This guy was terrible. I would have rather listened to Joe Buck and Tim McVarver do the game...
  9. A lot of decent entry passes that the bigs still can't seem to handle. Brooks threw one over Hanks head. That said at 6-10 he should have had it. It's almost as like our guards pass the ball much harder in game than in practice so they aren't used to it.
  10. Hartford is tied with Boston College and in Overtime right now on ACCNetwork which you can watch on the ESPN App if you have cable.
  11. Since I said UA will finish 8th on the AE board a few minutes ago, I'm going to go with 22 wins. Win tomorrow brings the team to 5, go 14-2 in league, win the AE chip, then lose a close game to the overall #3 seed Virginia that barely escapes the second consecutive embarrassing loss to an AE team.
  12. No time outs left so there was no way to plan strategy. Foul with 3 seconds left was pretty terrible though. Not enough time to really get a good shot off. It was either clean defense and hope for a bad shot or foul a few seconds earlier to have time to get a good shot for the tie or win.
  13. That's what I was thinking. No reason to read into it. I really like our roster as it stands, while I could see people who aren't getting a lot of time thinking about leaving, everyone brings something and looks like they could be real good in the AE.
  14. I've never followed recruiting heavily outside of UA stuff. Is it normal for a team to make offers with a full roster? It wouldn't surprise me if it was. I'd imagine that there would be clauses based on scholarship availability on an offer.
  15. Definitely hope not, de Sousa is going to be a beast. I hope Clark isn't eligible to graduate this year....
  16. Stark's doesn't count either way. When he got a medical exception the team signed Jerotic. So if he comes back and plays the team would be over by 1. If he comes back but doesn't play, I assume they would have to get another waiver for next year for the additional scholarship used by Jerotic. If he leaves, then we are still in the same spot we are today. Either someone else is definitely leaving, or Brown is just getting offers out there that are contingent upon someone else leaving, as it is pretty easy to predict that someone will. That is just the world we live in today. Scholarship Max = 13 Sr: 2 - Campbell/Miller Jr. : 3 - Clark/Brooks/Lauderdale/Fruscio (walk on) SO: 3 - Flory/French/Starks (with medical Waiver) FR: 6 - Rizzuto/Healy/Jerotic/de Sousa/Lulka/Hank 14 Scholarships and a walk-on. Waiver for Starks makes only 13 count 2 guaduate, and 2 are signed for next season (Hutcheson/Doherty) VC shows additional offers to: 2 players who will be juniors next season and 3 that will be freshman. Lawrence would be a junior next year, but he isn't listed on VC yet.
  17. Interesting. Officially there are no spots left for next season. I assume that means Brown already knows someone will not be back. https://twitter.com/Tha_realSadat/status/1075521432195686401
  18. Agreed. I followed a little before you, but not much. I don't remember Jamar as a freshman, but Baker was destined to be a CPOY until... well. It's too bad he never played anywhere again. I remember that dunk like yesterday as well purplehoops.
  19. Yep, he sat a year from transferring, then barely saw the court on a C-USA team. I'm only going on what was seen in extremely limited glimpses as he never played here. Videos, warm-ups, etc. I don't know if he got injured or what happened to him, but he looked extremely athletic and what would be a very good AE player. The team I posted was adding him and Baker to this year's team with Cremo and Nichols not transferring. If you are looking at last year, you still had Stire, Foster, and Charles in the post instead of Lulka, Hank, and Lauderdale. I wonder what would have come if Baker had things go differently for him. He was one of the more talented players we have seen. Anyway, the whole thing could be purple and gold glasses clouding the memory of guys that left. It doesn't really matter. We move on and hope this year's team cokes together and plays up to what looks like huge potential.
  20. Now that I think about it, wouldn't be possible anyway. Had Baker not left, he wouldn't have used a red shirt and would have graduated last year. Verbal commits has him as a senior this year, but that was because of the year he had to sit out. He definitely would have helped last year's team though.
  21. Healy was on the team last season and Rizzuto committed during the season. Having a lineup that looks like: 1. Nichols / Clark 2. Cremo / Healy / Rizzuto 3. Baker / Campbell 4. Lulka / Lauderdale 5. McKinley / Hank Would be a crazy lineup, and my top 25 comment was tongue in cheek and more a reference to Buffalo's success this year. Who knows if that would have happened. There are other pieces we may have never gotten. Who knows if Clark would have come if Baker stayed. There would probably not be a Flory or a Miller or a Brooks. Might not have gotten French or Lauderdale. There is no point in really discussing it, but kind of fun to think about. Baker was a sad story, and McKinley looked like one of the most talented Big's we have had (at least what was seen in the P+G game, warm-ups, and the dunk contest that was on the UA TV show). Anyway, just interesting thoughts.
  22. Flory makes his #domore debut and will supposedly play significant minutes. I have low expectations after the injury, but I'm interested to see who will lose time with another player added to the mix. DeSousa showed some signs of life with a nice dunk in traffic against Manhattan, and I'd like to see him continue to get time and gain confidence. Flory can play the 2 or the 3 and the team has a lot of players in those roles. I'm thinking that at this moment the team looks like this: 1: Clark, Miller, Brooks 2: Healy, Flory, Fruscio (WO) 3: Rizzuto, Campbell, deSousa 4. Lulka, Lauderdale 5. Hank, French RS: Jerotic, Starks (may never play again) Flory can play the 3, Rizzuto and Healy can play the one or the 2, and Campbell can play the 4. It's a pretty versatile team. I think we all can agree with Brown that there is a chance that the team can be very good if they can figure out how to put it all together. I'd love to see Brown sub more often and play more uptempo, but that just isn't his style.
  23. Excited to see what Flory brings and how it affects the rotations.
  24. We had Healy and Rizzuto before we lost Nichols and Cremo, but you are right if Baker was here as well. Team would still be weak in the post, but I'm thinking McKinley wouldn't have left if Baker was still here as well. That could be a top 25 team. Oh well, we reload instead of rebuild. This team will be fine in the AE. I still see them as a top 4 squad today. Just taking more growing pains than any of us expected.
