  1. I'll admit I'm a casual lacrosse fan, basically UA and nothing else. Went to 3 games last year. I understand the basic rules and follow along. My question to the avid UA lacrosse fans is this. Should we spend the money upgrading the lacrosse program or basketball program? It would be AWESOME to win a national championship in lacrosse and its probably our best sport. But I truly think it does more for the notoriety of the school to be a very very good mid major program. ( See any of the very good midmajors). Now to know zero about how much money it would cost to severely upgrade the lacrosse program but I do know it will cost more then 10 million to do so with the basketball program. Just looking to see what u guys think. If we become a lacrosse powerhouse what does that do for the UA brand? Because if we become an excellent mid major and I tell u exactly what that can do for the UA brand.
  2. Have to admit, very excited for the season to start, mostly because of the unknown . I will say this, that unless the transfers and upperclassman are wayyyy better , I would start at least 2 freshman if not 3 or 4. If Brooks or Clark does not hit the ground running then I would think Healy has a great shot to run the point . I know it will take shots away from him but we need someone out there and getting a freshman experience can only help later. Lulka looks to be a starter from everything I have heard. De Sousa appears to be a great get by Albany and as long as he adds a little (or a lot) of strength and understands the defensive assignments I would be shocked if he does not see major minutes. Lastly I have seen Rizzuto play and he appears wise beyond his years. I think will be a very good player at Albany and has the skills (to me) to play right away. (If not maybe a redshirt ) If Hanks develops I could see him really helping us down the line. Not sure about Nikola. Was going to be much better school (Conference) and they seemed to be high on him. Maybe he can help right away. I think he will be 20 years old soon so I can't see a redshirt coming his way. Would be curious to see what people think our starting 5 will be out of the gate.
  3. Right. Coach Brown said on 104.5 just last week that there would be 6 freshman this year, 3 redshirts from last year,Rissuto , De Sausa , and __________. My guess is that it was Nikola. But maybe this has change once again.
  4. I did not go to the first game bc of work. I sit in the front row of 205 and I will let them do it once. After that they will use the stairs . Sooo if u see someone escorted out, that will be me !!!!
  5. Listen. Everyone on this board , myself included, loves the Danes and hope's they win every game in every sport. I will venture to say most on here are multi season ticket holders that donate hundreds if not thousands of dollars to the school. I for one love your updates and posts and hope u continue them . However Coach G is a disaster. No game plan. Several mistakes and that's on him. The problem is , he never thinks it's on him. 100 percent of us this board hope we wins the next 12 games and wins the national championship, but even you need to admit we r not getting better. and maybe getting worse. I for one can see it in the defense scheme and again thats on him, not the players and that's what makes me extremely upset.
  6. Hey hey hey hey hey hey. I was CRUSHED by members of this board last week for telling the truth. Even though I have forgotten more about football then most know. Coach is on par with the greats!!!! We need to stop treating him like this.
  7. This is not an overreaction. I know many of you guys were high on this team. They will not win 5 games. Sorry
  8. Seems like an interesting signing . I believe he will be a 20 year old freshman.
  9. I know like once every 4 years or something like that your allowed to play exhibition games in another country. (Vermont is doing it now in Canada). I know we have done it before but it seems like more than 4 years ago. Anyone know why we are not doing this? Is it money ? With all the new comers this year it seems it would have been a perfect year to do it.
  10. Nice find .... looks way more athletic then a thought. This will be a very interesting year.
  11. This is 100 percent true and my point exactly.
  12. Ur right .... As a 17 year old kid I would love to hear we r playing Iona and whomever rather than Kentucky and Duke . My bad.
  13. I'm sorry but I dont like the schedule. I know we are very inexperienced but one of the reasons kids play at the lower major level is to test themselves against better competition. Also coaches can use that tactic while recruiting players. This is bottom line a terrible schedule.
  14. I'm not sure. ..however if the Albany Empire, out of a 4 team arena league, can get 10500 at their last home game, I see absolutely no reason if we market ourselves right we cant average 8k to 10k a game. They market the crap out of the Albany Empire. We need to do the same. In my opinion that's what we r highly lacking as a University.
  15. I understand we are a much bigger university than Siena but their fanbase is about double ours. That being said I find this to be interesting; Twitter followers for mens basketball are as follows: Siena: 3209 Albany: 4793 I understand that a lot of Siena alumni stay local but that's an interesting number to me. I truly believe that after a major renovation, and I believe it's coming, of the Sefcu we will draw much much better. I dont think the Sefcu is a dump, like most Siena fans would say, but a major facelift will go a long way.
  16. We may have our answer now. The Thunderbirds have signed Nathan Fromm from Anchorage Alaska. The 6’5 wing transfers in from Western Wyoming JC where he averaged 20 ppg on 45% from 3 point range. #NMJCMBB #FeelTheThunder Appears Fromm is going another year of JC. Too bad I liked this player. Looks as if he could have helped from the outside.
  17. I'm not a lacrosse guy but can someone explain to me that if a guy is right handed why u let them go right ? Even I could get a good shot off.
  18. I'm not a huge Campbell fan but that does not mean he cant improve. I'm curious to see what you consider solid? He averaged 7 points 4 rebounds last season.
  19. His twitter has him committing. Seems to be a great signing .
  20. https://m.timesunion.com/sports/article/Apparently-Rodger-Wyland-knew-of-Siena-hire-12886271.php I'm not the biggest Wyland fan...though I do listen to him on a regular basis, but this story to me really comes across like sour grapes. The man was right. He does seem to get the big stories first. This guy seems to be a sore loser. Must be drinking the Siena kool-aid.
  21. https://nypost.com/2018/04/30/meet-the-giants-intriguing-new-qb-and-the-coach-he-tortured/ Interesting article in the NY Post. Any press is good press.
  22. From the daily Gazette : "That door is certainly open, and redshirt junior Vincent Testaverde has made that the case" I thought he was a senior this year? Does anyone know for sure what his class is?
  23. Unless it's a hardship I give up trying to figure out the transfer thing. He played in 20+ games last year and is not a senior transfer. Under the transfer rules he would need to sit.
  24. He would need to sit a year. I have followed this player a little. He has had at least a couple of surgeries on the lower parts of his body. Seemed to have slowed him down a bit.
