Albany/Siena 2006

Recommended Posts

I note that the River Rats schedule is in today's papers and they are on the road on December 2.  The obvious question - - if the Albany - Siena game is on December 2, why can't it be a night game?

Probably because Siena is last on the totem pole of priority at their "home" court in the Pepsi and the Pepsi staff would rather work during the day and take the night off so they force Siena to schedule it during the day!!!!!

A dig at Siena? That seems pretty unlikely on this board.

The result of this game is probably more important that the timing but a night game certainly would be better for attendance. It's possible the Pepsi has a concert date for that night scheduled that they haven't announced yet. Maybe Barney or Scooby Doo On Ice is scheduled that night.

In a sense it's pretty ironic that we (Albany fans) will be helping Siena meet it's attendance goals if the game draws as well as we think it should.

When is this contract set to expire? Is this the last season?

I think this coming game is the last of a 3-year deal. The previous contract was also a 3-year deal, and the game in December will be the 6th meeting between the schools in the modern era.

If this year is the last year, it will be time to renegotiate.
