Will Harris, from UVA, to UA?

First mentioned by NYR in the 'Iowa Recruit' thread, I thought I heard tonight that Will Harris had verballed.

I know I could have waited for confirmation, but I was hoping one of you heard similar.

 

If this is true it would be another great get by Coach Brown as this kid was highly coveted coming out of high school.

Plus, it makes the disappointing NCAA game against UVA look a little better, as Harris played against the Danes that day.

Does the Times Useless still employ a UA blogger? It's Siena galore over there even though we recently received a verbal from a 2010 recruit and now perhaps a high major transfer. Good to know that the beat writer is ALL OVER this.

Watched the Wyland report. Did not mention that Harris had verballed, simply that he visited the campus. Had taped interview with Harris who stated that he really liked the coaching staff.

I am confused. Would Will be a one year wonder for us...or did he red-shirt a year? He is listed as a Junior and he must sit out a year....so I am confused. What it does give us is a big strong kid down low.

He played two yearsat UVa (only 9 games his sophomore year), so has two years eligibility left.

I hope we get this kid. I saw him play live (albeit for a short-time) with NUHF. Powerful kid. A more skilled version of Jimmy Covington (body wise). Wont be a world-beater...but could get us 8 and 6...and is really athletic for 6-6, 245lbs. I see him as a SF/PF for us.

If he does come, he would probably have to pay his own way and then take one of the 3 scholy's being freed up by this years senior class. Correct?

1.) Attended Redemption Christian

2.) Is friends with Coach Friel's brother.

No...he would have to sit a year as a transfer, he would be able to play in the 09-10 season with two years of eligibility remaining.
