Clickclack
Many of us saw the P&G game, most of us have seen the returning players etc. I'm wondering based on last season in part and what people saw during the P&G game, what's a reasonable expectations as far as # of wins. Clickclack
I voted minimum 12 wins. We all saw the disaster that was last season, I know the team is young but expecting to win 5 more games then last year is more then reasonable IMO. The program needs to show that it is once again moving in the right direction. A .500 record would be a hugely successful year out of this group (very very young) IMO. Am I asking for to much? DanesRGood
.500 or better with a good showing in the conference schedule.
haggyland
Now this is a good poll. I am going to have to ruminate on it for a while before I vote.
Clickclack
You ruminate...remember though, I said "realistic". We all want the team to win 20+ but consider where the program is and the makeup of the team what would be the bare minimum acceptable? If you are feeling really generous perhaps you can even offer why you feel that way. Perhaps a good rant if you feel so inclined. Season is right around the corner, football is in building for next season mode. Let's get some hoops talk going.
UA'08
Things have gotten so bad we don't even have a single game on ESPNU. This season ESPNU is on cablevision and albany gets 0 games on it. We had duke on espn2 3 years ago, kansas on espnu 2 years ago, cuse and unc on espnu last year and this year nada. Expecting 12 wins is unacceptable to me. I'd vote 16+.

It's hard to argue for more than that realistically with so many question marks. Also, with so many young guys/ new faces, I expect we'll drop a few evenly matched games early on- all that matters is whether come conference CB gets his house in order and he can settle on a dependable rotation. And UA 08, would vote? There's still no votes for 16+ in the poll. Hahah why are you keeping it in the hypothetical? Philosophical differences with voting? Clickclack
Patch, can you let us know how you voted? Five or six game improvement is reasonable expectations especially considering just how bad the AE is. One or two game improvement isn't NEARLY ENOUGH in my opinion. There is no one coming into sefcu that I see as an automatic loss one more thing... i'll probably get bashed for this but coach brown has to look across town and wonder how that green team continued to be successful every year since 06. they lose there three best players this year and are still picked to finish second in the macc. dont tell me the macc is terrible because the america east is worse. they are doing something right over there and coach brown did not capitalize on recruiting from 05-07. trust me i want albany to be successful just as much as everyone else. Clickclack
We need to make a killing in the horrible AE, the OOC is brutal. Cornell will be good, Iona depending on who you listen to will be very good.
bob87
UA08 Getting picked to finish second by the coaches after losing their best 3 players is a lot different than actually finishing 2nd. Like last year when some were talking top 25 for them, I think they are overrated. I think Blue Ribbons prediction for them at 4th is the most likely place they will finish this season, but there are so many unknowns I wouldn't bet the house on any spot. On paper Fairfield , Iona and St Peters should be better than them As far as UA, I would like to see improvement. I have no idea as to how much is realistic. A little, a lot, who knows. On paper UA is only better than UMBC but right there with Bingo and Hartford. I would be happy with 6th this season with anything above that being better. Dane Pound
I voted 13-15 which I would consider a decent year. After last year a decent year would seem great. When I look at the schedule I see: Games I think we should win if we're going to be a decent team in conference: American FDU Yale CCSU - That game from last year still annoys me MSM Colgate Wagner Would be good wins in my book: Cornell Iona Detroit Niagara Bowling Green Siena Cornell is a great game to start with. Would be a huge confidence boost for a young team that can certainly use it.

Cornell will be good, Iona depending on who you listen to will be very good. You believe to much of what you read on the little maac board. There are no gimme games in the AE even the 2 games against the team that has the former $iena kid on the team. As far as Iona and Cornell, those are good teams in peer leagues. They are not unbeatable, but are good measuring sticks to see how this team competes against good teams
