Looks like the goal post foundations are in the field and the rolling is being done to compact the gravel underlayment. I'm hoping the turf is going soon. It will really look great.

 

Can't wait to see it in person this weekend.

T_U says Chartwell's has lost the University's contract. Let's hope whoever the new vendor is, the athletic events concession is separate from the dining contract, and accountable to the dept. and not folded into the U as a whole.

Heard from a friend today that Sodexho is back.

Not to veer this thread off-course, but the below article states that the 5-year contract with Sodexho is valued at $170,000. $34k a year to feed 17k students? That seems really low to me. No wonder everyone always complains about the food at UA!

That seems crazy. They have to make more money on the food sales that are outside the contract.

 

I know Chartwells gouged us on fees for catering services.

I think this thread belongs somewhere else. But for my 2¢, something is wrong here. I know all the students do not eat at UA, but if they did--the math dictates that Sodexho can feed the school for two dollars per student per year????????????

My guess is that the article missed a zero.

And the contract is not just students - I believe they also get the concenssions at the stadium and SEFCU.

Looks like something going up on the roof - maybe an HVAC system.

They unwrapped it now, but its hard to tell what it is. I'm pretty confident its an HVAC unit of some sort though. They're doing a lot of work on the roof lately.

I've never seen it done but I'd have to imagine the turf going down will have a tremendous visual impact...
