Is there talk of a new FBS northeast league?

 

I think it's a foregone concluding that there will be additional musical chairs. We need to make ourselves as marketable as possible. That's why it's critical to have more then a one trick pony but an overall strong program. Lacrosse, men's and women's hoops, football, t&f... In totality under the leadership of Dr. McElroy we have a very strong department. However, the men's and women's program need a hand with the renovation of sefcu...sefcu renovations MUST MUST MUST be in the works.

I agree. It's gonna be harder to compete for bball recruits when Stony Brook is sending around. Even though it's about the same size as Sefcu, I know where I'd prefer to play:

The only thing that I am jealous of is any men's hoop program with a head coach that has more coaching ability than a mentally challenged toad......

Svare is a tool...tell me how much recognition got when they made the tournaments the first 2 times. Having ESPN show up on campus. How about when a privately funded lacrosse field got ESPN to show up and broadcast games.

 

If Svare cares so much about the academics, why does he start by not charging an arm and leg for the textbook he writes for his classes. I worked at the bookstore and when you charge students over $100 for a 100 level textbook and you get the royalties from it, you may not want to be the spokesman for the faculty about serving students.

I had a class with him three years ago in the LC. He is a tool...he'd start every single class with highlighting where men's bb or football was playing that week and then generally be dismissive. I don't remember any exact quotes but he'd be like, and football this weekend I hear is at CCSU, if you love some terrible football, go watch. This kind of commentary happened basically before every class. The fact that he was aware of what the schedule was and still slammed it reeks of a vendetta or something of the sort.

 

His books aren't even hardcover and he'd charge you $100 for basically a binder. And then he'll sit there and preach that money isn't being spent properly. Figured this tool would be the face of the anti-athletic movement. Why doesn't he highlight how many people were enrolled in the programs that were canceled...maybe it was half of one % of total enrollment of the school. He won't admit to it but the programs that were canceled were not very popular, students voted with their own feet/wallets.

Like proper child development you should immediately reward good behavior. I just did a small donation to the stadium to reward stadium expansion news.

Iorizzo on Wyland today said he got the impression that UAlbany officials would rather have the expansion sooner than later.
