Basketball is now about shooters.  We have maybe 1. Through 3.5 games that is our number 1 problem. 

We need to recruit men who can shoot from the outside.

So here is my honest assessment. They play hard.  However.  We have 1 guy who can consistently hit the open jumper. And we basically have no one who can consistently beat anyone off the dribble. We won't win many games like this . 

It needs to change.

Need to get Amica healthy and sit Horton...kid plays hard but he's an awful basketball player. Neely continues to impress....a competent D1 PG would make a world of difference on this team.

Trouble is we have NO idea if Amica can be the answer or not. Don"t even know why he has not been on the floor at all? Even last year he impressed (although too many TO's) for a very SHORT period of time; but never got a second chance????  FREE AMICA!!!

He's injured I believe with apparently a day to day designation. I don't know I'd he's the answer but Horton is definitely not. That much we know.

I like Horton a lot. He hustles and plays hard, but I like him in the 2 role more than at the point. He handles the ball well and can get to the rim around most defenders. The problem is that he hasn't been facilitating others with penetrate and dish, opting to force up shots and they aren't falling.

As a team that shooting has been horrendous so far this season especially from deep. If they get hot as a team there isn't a team we've seen yet that they wouldn't beat, and if they even shot at a half way decent clip they probably would have won 3 of the 4. Maybe the hot hand comes Monday and we can keep that game close. 

Still feel they will be fine come conference, and the 0-4 doesn't bother me, but I'd definitely like to see Amica on the floor and see what he can bring. Horton need to be the backup or the second option.

Amica has not played at all . Not the in exhibition or any of the games.  Killings continues to say he is day to day.  There is NO WAY he is day to day. Amica is obviously hurt . Maybe really hurt.  It has been weeks and he is not on the floor.

Not sure what you're watching but Horton can't make a basic entry pass. See his first pass into Perry in the EKU game. This guy doesn't feel or think the game, he's a turn over machine that is highly inefficient, which is magnified by him being the primary ball handler. His ORating is 72.7 and TORate of 33.4...by comparison, Ben Shungu UVM's starting PG has a turn over rate 1/3 his at 11.7. The quicker they can sit him and develop Amica unless he's somehow worse the better off this team will be. Granted, Amica has very few games/minutes under his belt, it's expected he'll struggle. This guy is a seasoned vet and is a mess handling the ball.  He's not even aware of people running behind him repeatedly and tipping the ball away from behind. Hard to watch this kid play PG. He would be better off as a two guard but can't shoot. Dude is shooting 61% from the FT line and 14% from 3...so yeah....but he can jump and looks shifty.
