Yeah, I'm on record defending this team and sticking with them. My purple and gold glasses keep telling me they will figure it out and be good come conference play. That said, when I went to UA it was ranked the #1 party school in the country. I flunked out and it was off the list. I came back a year later and the schools was back at #1 on the list. (True story)

Soooooooo my purple and gold glasses are more like purple and gold beer goggles. While I can see the faint outline of talent, in reality I'm drunk and they are really, really bad.

I still say that Neely injury destroyed them. Whether or not the record would have been better or not he was the best player returning from last year. Would have been interesting to see how they’d be with Beagle and Neely both in the lineup. It’s also not like they are going out there playing awful teams either. Either way, right now it’s borderline unwatchable.

So where is the new guard?  Many of the "old" guard, which includes me <not sure what makes you a friend and/or family of the old guard and by the way who is the old guard> showed up at the games last year until we realized that our University would not enforce its own rules on wearing masks.  There are plenty of posters, that remain active here, who demanded the replacement of the "old" guard.

Most know who those most active posters used to be. We can easily put a bunch of regular posters who stopped and we knew who they were.

Is Reddish still sick? Just tuned into the broadcast and missed the beginning. I don't think I saw him on the bench.

I know some here have said he hasn't been great yet, but I've seen tons of improvement.

What in the hell is a Covid freshman year mean for him.

70%+ from the field for them. 23 assists lol. Talk about a team effort...

We are now 1-6 against teams that matter. Abysmal start to the season.

In the end, one makes a choice whether or not to post and/or follow MBB ... I am of the opinion that no one whether old guard/new guard/no guard gets any satisfaction from the current state of affairs with the team.

How bad is our defense? American scores a season high 88 against us but just 58 in a win over NJIT. We obviously don’t have the offense to survive all those defensive holes. Once again, Davis missing in action. Also, getting real tired of Drumgoole’s 30 foot shots with a hand in his face, and Little trying to go 1 on 5. School yard. Really impossible to take anything positive out of what I saw tonight. To someone else’s good point: if we are fortunate enough to have a new head coach next year, or at any time, would we lose Beagle?

Gonna be harsh:

This team is bad, forgetting injuries and sickness.

Dwayne Killings may not be ready to be a head coach at this level, maybe one day he can be but he simply isn't it today  I am sorry, at nearly 400k a year this isn't an experiment.  It's really money, real jobs, real impact on the University's bottom line. There are simply no in game adjustments, no cohesive strategy, and no real recruitment strategy.  I have not seen a single source of improvement from him as a coach nor the returning players.

The end.

I will fight (kidding, I say it proverbially) anyone who says otherwise.  I've coached at multiple levels and played at multiple levels, sent kids to D3, D2, and D1.  Played against and with kids of the same, including future pros.  I understand the damn game, and I am very angry.  This is by no means to say that a decision to move on from Coach Brown was wrong or right, that is not my decision to make.  However, choosing the right coach and not a straight up "salesmen" with zero head coaching experience at any level seemed very risk, and that concern is growing both on and off hte court.

Coaching takes place both on and off the court, and isn't only about recruiting and x's & o's.  Yes, DK is good at getting out and "selling the brand", I guess?!  But the whole thing has seemed forced from the get go, starting with a "New mentality".  WTF kind of nonsense was and is that?  Every single team that has suited up for Albany had a "Mentality" and that was to win for themselves and the school.

I am done with my rant...but I do not see this getting any better both on and off the court.

End rant.
