This was posted on the MaineBlackBears.com website.  Their athletic department are working to meet the safety and athletic aspirations of their athletes while maintaining a sensitivity to the Maine community in this tragic time.

Orono, Maine – Maine Athletics has announced alterations and updates to its events scheduled for the weekend of Oct. 27 through Oct. 29.

 

The women's soccer game against New Hampshire, originally scheduled to be played on Oct. 26 at 6 p.m., has been moved to Friday, Oct. 27 at 5 p.m.

 

The women's ice hockey game with Boston University, scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m., has been postponed. A make-up date for the single Hockey East contest will be announced at a later date. Saturday's women's ice hockey game with Boston University remains scheduled to be played at Alfond Arena at 5 p.m.

 

The America East Cross Country Championships (Oct. 27 at 10 a.m.); the football game with UAlbany (Oct. 27 at 1 p.m.); and the field hockey game with California (Oct. 28 at noon) all remain as scheduled.

The University of Maine has announced that it will reopen and resume a regular schedule of classes, both online and in-person, as well as all events on Oct. 27. However, this is subject to change based on new insights or significant changes in the situation. We ask members of our community to be cognizant of individual needs in processing this traumatic event.

I don't know if they will play or cancel the game. Besides what was already mentioned the minor league hockey game in Portland was canceled tomorrow.  Hockey has plenty of time left in the season to reschedule and football wouldn't. 

But neither a decision to play or a decision to cancel would surprise me.

I back this statement.  Please, take ill-informed and ill-timed reactionary nonesense to NewsMax or somewhere else it belongs.

I agree. Probably the best we’ve heard this year. Someone with more technical football x and o expertise than me: have they changed blocking schemes in the second half? What a turnaround running the ball.
