Letter to Editor

I think someone submitted a letter to the editor in the Times Union a week ago about Albany wearing black uniforms.

Someone told me that Albany is going back to home whites and purple road uniforms for next season.

I think several people will be happy to hear this. I agree that it is time to ditch the black - as the team's third color.

Purple sucks as a solid uni color unless they go with the UW purple color.

Purple and gold got blacked out in NCAAs

Haven't they worn black for a couple of years? I wonder where Tony's been?

Haha, I thought the same thing when I read the article. They've been black probably before Kermit ever heard of UAlbany. And Tony was even a student here up to no more than 2 years ago. Way to identify yourself as a bandwagoner Tony...lol.

I personally don't mind them. Would rather have gold as home and black w/ purple trim for away than white for home and purple for away.

There is a new rule going into effect next year making all home teams wear white. Mostly because of Illinois wearing orange at home and when they play a red team on tv, it looks like two red teams playing. The black sucks anyway, makes us look like Duke wannabes. We should wear the gold on the road.

If we must wear white at home, then gold on the road. Purple better than black, as long as it's very dark, not a Barney-esque pastel. If they insist on black, at least make gold the main color of the numbers and letters so they show up better.

I think that the NCAA should not worry about uniforms and leave it to this, the home team can wear alternative jersey's at their discretion as long as the officals determine that they will be easily distinguishable, otherwise the home team is to wear the white jersey's.

Personally, I like the black jersey's, it's what all the "kids" are wearing these days.
