Nanocollege to split from UAlbany ?

Yep, sadly this appears to be done and just needs to be formalized...very upsetting. This campus has sacrificed much building that thing up...and in the dead of night when no one was watching it got ripped away by a power hungry ego-maniac.

Perfect time to add a law school. Replace one professional school with another.

 

Create a high-technology law center and stay tied to Nano as closely as possible.

 

Even if we lose the title, it would be a bigger travesty to lose the connection.

No one has yet given any rational or compelling reason why the split must be done. Why are State and UA leaders being so secretive about this? As the saying goes "something stinks".

 

Connecting Albany Law School with UA and the School of Nano Science is self evidentially smart.

CEO of a business based in it says ' NanoCollege ready, able to soar on its own ' in T-U commentary. Still doesn't say why, except to leverage the Nano name across the state.

The Nano College IS expanding across the state as part of the University at Albany. You don't need to spin off the college to expand; its happening now! CNSE just purchased the Kodak building in Rochester while under UA.

 

This guy says the college has to be spun off to compete with MIT or Harvard but the says he's sending his kid to UA. She doesn't want a Harvard or MIT quality education?

 

I wrote a response to the TU. lets see if it goes anywhere.

Not a single person has been able to explain WHY CNSE can't expend being part of UA? Why do they have to go off our their own?

We all got the same letter (posted earlier in the thread), but I'm hearing it's a done deal.

Seeing they're stripping UAlbany's biggest accomplishment from the university does anyone think SUNY will provide any reparations? Do they give UA anything or is it insult to injury?
