Clickclack
Maybe I'm a pessimist but I don't see attendance reaching 6000 for the game. I hope I am severely wrong. I don't see that low a number on a perfect weather night... North of 6k IMO is a given...

I can't believe it will be < 6000. Our first home game was always pretty well attended at the old venue. I just hope everything is ready so that the new or casual fans have a good experience. Huge first impression. Based on the pics of coach ford's birthday celebration, it appears the University now has control of the stadium. The team practiced on it yesterday. UAalum72
The news last night said they started to practice at BOFO, but went to the grass because the turf temp. was 140 in the record heat. danefan
Jennifer Gish's article is spot on and what we've bascially been saying for years. UAlbany has set up all the trappings for a relatively small community without a lot else to get behind, and it should put generations of fans in Fear the Danes shirts, ready for some true college football. UAalum72
Maybe I'm a pessimist but I don't see attendance reaching 6000 for the game. I hope I am severely wrong. Really? Our first home game at University Field usually got more than or right around 6000. 2012 - 6,194, Colgate 2011 - 4,944, Maine 2010 - 6,624, St. Francis (Homecoming) 2009 - 4,823, Maine 2008 - 2,436, CCSU 2007 - 4,106, Hofstra Looking these up reminded me of the years there were no home games until October. Hoping those days are done.

danefan
What time is that pep rally supposed to start so we can peep in on the webcam? 6pm. If you look back a couple hours you can see the football team practicing through a monster storm.
danefan
Rain appears to be putting a damper on the festivities. Looks like a line outside the ticket gate though to get in.

danefan
Given the weather I'd say that's a pretty good turnout for the first one. If we get 500-1000 students Saturday we'll be in great shape. That will be way more than normal.

Jammaster
To all the former football players on this site: congratulations! This Saturday is possible because of all the hard work the teams of the past put in. Whatever the attendance this weekend, the program has officially arrived.
