olddog71
I'm disappointed that the Times Union didn't print how many tickets have already been bought for tonight's game. Disappointed, but not surprised.
KingDane
Wish I could be inside the BOFO for opening night. Waited a long time for the venue. Go Danes.

Michigan_Dane
10,800 according to Fox
GreatDane87
The tv broadcast is saying just under 9000. Nevertheless, it is great seeing the Danes playing in prime time on a real sports channel. The broadcast is first class with the Washington Capitals main guy....the stadium looks great. What a great night for Albany sports!
Michigan_Dane
Wyland said he was hearing 10,800 but unofficially. Seemed a bit high from what I'm seeing on TV but still looks like a sell out.

Dane Pound
Box score says 8500. If they don't count the people on the berm, ahem the First Niagara Family Berm, it could be 10,000 or so. The FNFB was packed.
Dane96
Was DEFINITELY near 11,000. Heck from the webcam you can see the SRO on the berm. No way they are going to announce over 8500 and piss the fire marshal off at the first game. I am watching the replay now...and while Fiacchi did not have his best outing and our kicker was awful, this is all on McCarthy's horrific play calling. Utterly the worst play calling I have seen in a long time. And hen he did have some success, what did he do? He went back to the vanilla. Christ caused us at least TWO timeout's. It was great to see the huge turnout yesterday. Before the game actually began, I had my doubts as to whether UA would see most seats occupied, but the final turnout was a pleasant surprise. Great turnout in the student section. Yes, the play calling was not good.
danefan
I got to be honest, I would have never predicted 11,000 before the game. There were people in ever nook and cranny of that stadium. In speaking to a few athletic department officials, they know they have some work to do. Alleviate lines, etc. but a pretty much flawless effort on their part too. Kudos. I was afraid they were going to go overboard and sterilize the experience.
