20-10 over vt today. Looked pretty ugly on stream; like UA was still down over su loss. Lyle with 8 pts. in about a ½. Interested in comments from anyone who attended live or otherwise

 

Face offs 12 to 22 in vt favor. Erickson with long stick did about the best @ face. .

We will not have a deep run in the NCAA's without someone stepping up on the face-offs and I don't think that guy is on the roster or Marr would have him in there. Does Gattuso have a big, strong guy that played some lax in HS that we can put in there?, lol. It's all about possessions against the top teams and we saw that against SU. The Vermonts, Umass-Lowells, and Canisus's of the world make us look great but the top 10 are in another league and if we can go 50-50 or even 40-60 on FO's we can win.

Stony Brook has caught fire and beat Princeton yesterday. They will be tough in an AE championship game and not sure we get into the tourney as an at-large. If we win all the other games, should be okay due to a win against Yale, a top 12 team coming up. Only have 3 losses at selection time in that senario. Lets beat Bingo first.

watched ND pretty much stomp Duke yesterday and they spent a decent amount of time talking about Lyle and that he has to win the "heismann" again this year given he will become the all-time leading scorer....they spoke highly of UA as well and how wherever UA goes, obv. because of the Thompson's, they get rock star type of treatment...

Does Bryant still have the same faceoff guy from last year? I think he was one of the best in the country. Their goalie is also outstanding. This game next week could be very dangerous.

Just watched the game vs. Binghamton. Not a great effort at times. Blaze was great. If not for him, we lose. Bing did play well. Still can not believe our poor face-off play. Our guy Zelen got beat cleanly and quickly too many times. We were 12 for 29 for game.

Yes they do have Kevin Massa. He is 156 for 239 this season in FO. Just set NCAA record for FO wins in career. Since Lyle is all-everything, can he do FO too? Only kidding, too many injuries can occur in the circle.

Agreed. I seriously don't understand why we can't get a faceoff guy. It's ridiculous...even when Russell was healthy...it wasn't like we were dominating.

Yesterday, and other games like this... it seems like we roll into the game thinking it's already in the bag.

When teams like this play one of their best games, and leave all of their energy and hustle on the field...

that mentality isn't healthy.

 

Glad it didn't bite us in the ass.

 

At least losing Russell happened earlier rather at the end of the season. Let's hope we get a little better as the season roll on.

Not a trap game at all. BRYANT IS VERY GOOD. They almost took down UNC...and they've got one of the best FO guys in the land. Add in that Mike Pressler is the HC, and we should never be looking past these guys.

 

If anyone didn't want the 60 minutes special on Pressler and Duke last night, you should. Mike's a stand-up guy...and great coach, who preaches physical play. He's a lot like Coach Gattusso.

I know they're good, but on paper it's a trap game. On the road against an unranked team with an under .500 record.

If players don't get up for this game and win a couple at the X UA can easily lose.
