While I think it is probably D.O.A but I would think once we beat Stony Brook and New Hampshire beats Maine are we in?? JMU has the auto bid but I have to think Richmond and Nova get at large bids. I doubt a 4th team from the CAA gets in.

Any thoughts?

A 7-4 season is a success and is a good step. We could of beaten Maine with good QB play

The fact that we are talking about this even with terrible QB play is something to be proud of and build on going into next year. If I asked you guys 3 month's ago, win over Buffalo and sitting at 6 wins or 7 wins. Everyone would sign up for it.

That being said...GG gets no pass for no QB.

This. This is all thanks to EIH and the defense. We won 6-7 games inspite of the QB's.

Even if we beat Stony Brook we're still only tied for sixth in conference. Even assuming Maine beats New Hampshire and knocks them out at 6-5, we lost to the playoff teams ahead of us.

The only thing we can point to is that we beat an FBS and one playoff team/conference champion - but how much credit do we get when those two are Buffalo and St. Francis?

1.#4 James Madison (9-1, 7-0 CAA) [CAA Champions]

2. #8 Richmond (8-2, 5-2 CAA)
3. #20 New Hampshire (6-4, 5-2 CAA)
4. #12 Villanova (7-3, 5-2 CAA)
5. Maine (6-4, 5-2 CAA)
6. Stony Brook (5-5, 4-3 CAA)
7. Albany (6-4, 3-4 CAA)

If we beat SBU, we would be 4-4 in conference as would SBU but we would have the upper hand due to head to head win over SBU. We need UNH to beat Maine (I think). I cant see Maine getting in with a loss to UNH. Maine would have the better conference record and head to head win vs Albany (man that game hurt us). I cant see UNH getting a bid especially since they lost to Albany and I'm not sure they have had a great win anywhere either. I believe it would be down between UNH & Albany in UNH beats Maine for a final at large but I do think its a long shot for both.

This is how I see it - but I don't follow the other conferences that closely so I don't know all the bubble teams...

If UNH defeats Maine and we win, then I don't think we don't have much of a chance - I think that results in 4 CAA teams (JMU, Richmond, Villanova, UNH) with Maine being a bubble team. Don't think we'd get in ahead of a 6-2 in conference UNH team even though we won or against a 5-3 in conference Maine team that beat us.

If Maine defeats UNH and we win, then I think we have a possibility to be the fifth CAA team in (who knows if there will even be 5). You'd make the argument that although UNH would then have a 5-3 conference record, vs our 4-4 conference record, we won the head to head and we won a fbs game and won another game against a playoff team (St. Francis).

fwiw, this bracketology guy sees a possibility

Crazy losses today. Montana and WIU should be out of consideration, completely.
