Hutcheson has been great today. Really appreciate how aggressive he's been on both sides.

 

Hoping Horton isn't hurt too badly, though Little has been distributing the ball well so far.

Need to rewatch some of these second half calls when I get home. Not sure what they look like on TV but from my seats the officiating has been terrible. Like terrible. From almost no calls in the first half to blind calls in the second half. It's probably just my purple glasses blocking the views but damn.

Harvard is not good, but they have had great ball movement and have taken mostly good shots.

Perry missing 4 out of 5 ft and one he didn't even take because of a miss on the front end of a 1 and 1 hurts. May have otherwise stolen this. Excellent game that shows growth and Harvard is expected to be good...put up close to 90 on Iona in ot.

The refs didn't make the team lose, being 3-15 from 3 and 10-16 from the line did, but without some terrible officiating it would have been much closer. I missed being able to yell at refs with covid. With a certain someone in Florida and not able to be the loudest in the gym we all need to pick up our ref bashing game.

Offense is too much iso ball.  Granted Perry and Horton can get to the basket, but I don't recall them kicking it out for any open looks.  6 assists all game as a team is not going to cut it.  Albany needs a true PG to run this offense.

I know they were working hard on defense, but having only 4 pts after ten minutes was rather scary to me. Especially at home, where you are playing with your own rims and backgrounds. Still a work in progress, but as many have said, they desperately need a PG. Our opponents are using rapid and crisp passing to create openings, where we are using isolations or drive and dish. Let's see where all of this goes as the season moves on.

ps the rule was initiated to improve scoring inside, reduce ruff stuff underneath, and cut down on the reliance of 3's. IMHO it has failed in all aspects and all arc's should be immediately wiped off all basketball floors.

That was def a brutal call. Albany hurt themselves missing all those free throws. Defense showed up big time especially when they couldn’t buy a bucket in the first half. It’s a long season and the schedule is just going to get harder. By conference play I feel confident we’ll see a solid team out there if we can just have some sort of respectable point guard play.
