Bucknell beat Presbyterian 66-65, so we play the Blue Hose

UAlbany has something in common with the "Blue Hose", neither school has beaten a D1 team this season.

This game appears to be an excellent opportunity for Coach Killings to work on his head coaching skills.

  • Eli changed the title to Game #7: 11/22/22 - 8:30PM vs Presbyterian (Sunshine Slam)

I knew little about Presbyterian College. A little digging says that they have just under 1200 undergrads and 1/3 of the students are members of the athletic teams at the D1 level….and it looks like they support 19 sports including women’s wrestling. That level of participation is astonishing to me. It’s been around since 1880.

So Colonial Quad sized school. That is a crazy statistic. I'd think other small schools probably have a similar percentage if they have as diverse offerings. Not sure how many schools are around that are that small.

Sounds like Colgate University, which has 3050 students

Anyone know who the host league is for this tournament; and why does FloSports have the rights??

Tournament's site says the Northeast Conference is the sponsor (even if they don't have any teams in it) and doesn't mention video at all

I am watching...and we look very bad.  Have literally zero idea how to break down a defense...and relying on athleticism and three point shooting.  To be fair, the atmosphere is like playing in a warehouse.  But still...

And yes, just no discipline.

Sorry, y'all could sugar coat this $iena all you want.

We don't have MORE good basketball players than BAD basketball players.

We DO have more athletes than non-athletes.

We don't have in-game adjustments.

We can't break down a defense.

We don't rebound well.

We have been pretty good about TOs.

We are down a really, really good player but not enough of a player to singlehandily cover these warts even if he played.

We have lost to VERY bad basketball teams, including St. Joes (they are bottom barrel A-10 this year).

We are getting beat by a better "TEAM".  Not by better athletes.

If we didn't have Gerald Drumgoole and Beagle we'd be in deep doo-doo.

The season is early, hope we can grow...but it needs to be significant growth.  And to that point, Little is having his best "game" of the season.   Doing all the things that could make him an All-Conference guy if he got it together.

For anyone watching the box, this comeback is all one-on-one basketball by Drumgoole and Little.  It is fascinating and Little has SOOOOOO much potential.  We still have not played a good team game...still have not made adjustments.  But Little is having the game of his college career.
