Amazing and important news.  Great job by President Rodriguez and the Governor.  Add this to the AI initiative and ETEC, and Albany is primed tO make a run back into the top 100-120 school it once was.

Also seems like we are expanding into Harriman.  Big deal, no doubt.  750 million takeover of the Wadsworth labs.  School will eventually grow that campus out.  Massive news.

I am in shock that the Wadsworth Labs will come under UA.  That is a massive public health initiative and research oriented institution for the State.

Not sure the moving of Wadsworth to Harriman means UA assuming control. TU article this AM did not mention Wadsworth. I know it has been speculated. Have you seen anything official that UA is assuming control of Wadsworth? The tweet above mentions the 750 mil move to Harriman;  but nothing about Wadsworth UA merger??

Finally, the travesty that was perpetrated years ago in the theft of Nano has been reversed. This is excellent news!

This is probably the best thing to happen--at least academically--to UA in a long, long time. Apparently the goal is for Albany to become the home of the upcoming National Semiconductor Technology Center, which would be huge.

Talked today to a guy who works at CNSE. They really hope a top engineer is picked to run the college. What they do there is way beyond the expertise and the world of academics like Havi Rodriguez.

This is great to hear. I’m curious what they plan to do with the Utica campus. Could it be turned into a satellite campus for UAlbany?
