  1. SportsCenter tweeted after the game about how Albany soundly beat UMBC a few weeks ago and it has been retweeted and liked thousands of times since. UMBC’s huge accomplishment is bringing recognition to our program too, and it’s great for the conference as a whole!!

  2. You are extremely irrational at the moment. Lol. UMBC did what no other team could have done in 135 tries. We also beat UMBC by 44 points this year. Stony Beat them by 30+. Crazy things happen. UVA plays UMBC 1000 times, they probably win 990. Crazy things happen. To say that UMBC winning has undone everything we've accomplished makes little sense. When UVM beat Cuse in a massive upset, did that set us back 15 years? Within a couple of years, we were making our debut in the big dance. UMBC will get a lot of recognition and that will be good for our conference. Mid-majors conferences are only as good as the results they produce in big game situations. I think this ultimately helps UA, and I think we could have an excellent team next year.

  3. I did now learn how to ignore my first poster on the board, so it's not all bad.

  4. I like the stability. I don't like cycling through coaches every 2-5 yrs. How often does a coach come in and win in their first 1-2 yrs? They need time to get the program to where they want it. UVM has been lucky with that but for every UVM you have a ton of Sienas. How has being a stepping stone worked out for them recently? You make a mistake and you are screwed for years. We know we have an excellent coach who has a strong history of winning. I'm sure there will be ups and downs but should be more ups than downs.

  5. I’m sure the NCAA is loving a umbc/ub sweet 16 matchup lol. Tickets will be hot! Great for tv, but I’m sure they are hating this now. With possibly two more coaches in the America east set to leave, coach Brown could once again be the only coach with any NCAA appearances. This is not a good thing. I’m happy he and his family are set financially, but at our level I’d rather have coaches plucked away because of their success and the program become a stepping stone. Coach just seems too comfortable and pretty much is untouchable whether or not we get to the tournament for the next 10 years.

  7. Crazy to see the #1 rattled like this. But remember, UA was up I think it was 11 on UConn midway through the second half or was it later. I can't remember now.

  9. Not to be negative, but UVM has highlights and a recap up already and we’ve got crickets chirping.

  10. Great statement win. To think that the Danes haven't played a really, really clean offensive game yet. I hope they have that in reserve for May.

  11. Now we are working them with Frosh and Soph, with a smattering of Juniors and Seniors. Yikes. And the Frosh FO guy is killing UVM.

  15. from what I see UA is just trying things out on offense at this point. I'm interested to see if UVM actually scores a goal or how long it takes them to score.

  16. UVM has been double poling McClancy and Patterson some and leaving a shorty on Justin. Justin needs to show he can beat that match up.

  17. Nope. No sound. Competition has picked up a bit today, eh Vermont?

  19. I don't want to pick on UA 08 (he gets upset when I do that, so i will keep it to scrabble- Troll, hater of Brown, and delusional with his logic.

  20. Wait... So the great plan is to get rid of brown who has over the last 6 years - won 20 plus games 5 times - the one year he didn't he won 19 - 3 ncaa trips where were showed well 3 times - brown has more ncaa appearances in a half a decade roughly than umbc has in their entire history and has been close a number of times getting a w. - look at Siena and be careful what you wish for. And somehow what umbc did negates that? They graduate everyone... Have very little proven talent coming back and odem is almost surely gone... They deserve all the credit for last night but I fail to see how that deminishes our program.

  21. Honestly, WB has been great and the sudden hatred coming from that troll, then the agreement of normal fans is sad. Long term, I hope that when WB is gone, be it 3 years from now or 20 years from now, UA becomes a place that is chasing the hot up and comers from stepping stone schools instead of the other way around.

  24. OK call me crazy; but here is how you can improve the tournament. LESS power 5 teams & More from mid majors. Fans love an underdog and a Cinderalla. Every ncaa tournament that I have been to and there have been several, unless the "home" team is playing, all/most every person in the place gets loudly behind the underdog team. So my recommendation is ALL conferences must be allowed @ least TWO representatives (unless they they cannot field two +500 winning teams). Limit the power 5's to no more than 4 or maybe 5 participants. They are all playing each other all year anyhow. Who really cares to see Louisville, Kentucky, Florida, Whoever play each other 4 times in a year? Crazy Radical Nuts. But I for one would definitely find the tournament more fun/interesting. ps. as a side effect, this would provide more teams, talent, and variety for the so called "lesser" tournaments

  25. I got to think this helps AE recruits just slightly across the board. Makes the whole conference look good.

  26. We got a SportsCenter mention. “A team that lost to Albany by 44”. This also made me think of the favorite statement of many “defense wins Championships”. Garbage. You need some D but you better be able to score.

  27. Silver Spring MD? Congrats on the win, but definitely a troll.

  28. I think you're overreacting. Brown is still one of the top 3 coaches in the AE IMO (up there with Becker and Odom). He just got stuck with a bum (at least this year) in Nichols who COMPLETELY derailed UA's season with his petulance and other flaws (I don't need to beat that dead horse anymore). We all knew coming into the year that this team would go where Nichols took it. And he took us nowhere. This is his team for better or worse and he didn't lead it. If he comes back next year and plays like he did in 2016-2017, we'll be fine. If he lays another egg like he did this year...Brown will retool with the likes of Healy, Rizzuto, etc. the follow year. Our future bigs (Hanks, Lulka, whoever else they bring in) look fine...as do our guards (Cremo for one more year, Healy, Rizzuto). And there is rumor that we're recruiting Cremo's heir apparent. Future is bright. Definitely not doom and gloom. We'll be fine. This year wasn't our year. It was UMBC's. It is what it is.

  29. For what it's worth, this just proved that teams like us can catch lightening in a bottle and win. This will happen for us one day.

  34. Go Danes!!! Should be a big crowd .... parties in the SEFCU lot!!!!

  35. I agree...that seems to be the fatal flaw for UA. It's not that big of a deal in a game like this, but vs. teams like Duke, Denver, Yale etc...it can come back and hurt.
