  1. Over 2600 people attended the game in Hartford. I hope fans rally around the Danes when they're home. This team certainly deserves a good following.
  2. I had hoped that with BU(MA's) departure from the AE that the conference would have considered adding football, but if the rumors about UMass are correct then that scenario would still have been possible. I would like to have heard the discussion at AE admin meetings about the football future in the last couple years. Was it a possible consideration? Did we wait until it was no longer an option to make our move to the CAA for the sport?
  3. Regarding general attendance, I wonder at what point we will start drawing many fans who follow the other D1 school in the area. At what point do they become discouraged with the current situation and start drifting over to Western Avenue? For the last game at the TUC almost 6,000 people attended to see that debacle, and many of them probably knew before the game started that it would end with disappointment. Not all of those in attendance were presumably season ticket holders. Of the remaining attendees, how many do you think we could attract for the rest of our season?
  4. In regard to the TU Center article, I noticed the reviewer didn't mention sightlines or quality of seats.
  5. How was the attendance tonight? How well were the students represented?
  6. UA committed more than twice as many turnovers as St. Francis (17-8).
  7. Will Brown's thoughts about hosting future Siena games: http://www.timesunion.com/sports/article/Craving-home-cooking-4085524.php Our program has grown up. Now it's time for the Siena fanbase to do the same.
  8. I wonder who wrote the headline. Sounds like someone is quite bitter. Their problem.
  9. Another viewpoint that you can read out of the article is that Coach Brown and the Danes have a product very worthy of being seen and enjoyed. I would spend too much time looking negatively at Wilkins's article. I'm with Dane Pound and agree that it is wonderful to see a successful program being built from the start.
  10. Is that a good thing???? For those of his historically challenged/to new to know what you are talking about. We are in the driver's seat, not just a passenger on the bus. Two of the SUNY's have come a long way since we joined the league. Other members had their doubts whether we could compete legitimately.
  11. As far as home court is concerned, I just hope we get a decent set of referees for the game. I'm tired of seeing the Danes struggle so well through the big part of the game, only to see them falter at the very end - and fall - due to a questionable call. My favorite scenario would be to see us kill them in this game. Another good ending would be for the other side to call "foul" for a change.
  12. Hooray! You're back, and through my regular browser. Dane Pound, I don't know what you did to get it back, but you are very much appreciated.
  13. UA right now has switched the tables and been on the field more time so far than Monmouth.
  14. The league released its package of ESPN games toay. Here is the linK: Men's Basketball Schedule On ESPN3 Twicee . . .
  15. Albany ranked above Stony Brook in this weekend's Sagarin poll (130 vs 139).
  16. Hope we can get a North/South rivalry going. DUKES v. DANES!! Just so you know, Dukes are greater than Danes and southerners are greater than yankees--just look at how many yanks want to move south. Plus better looking women, unless your in Mississippi, but I digress. There you go, maybe that north/south rivalry/Dukes/Danes rivalry will begin after all, hahaha! Oh, keep trying on the CAAZone, not sure why it takes so long. Up here we say...*you're*...apparently education isn't highly valued down there. Clickclack, +1 Not bad from a non-national transplant!
  17. Just an add-in: Full OOC schedule released. Nothing yet from America East.
  18. It was good to visit the campus a couple times this last week and view all the construction going on. I don't ever remember so many projects going on at the same time. Good for my perspective of where UA is headed.
  19. More positive news about Nanotech. The article below comes from today's issue of the Poughkeepsie Journal. IBM: New glue to allow for microchips advances The first person to comment on the story attempts to clarify who actually created the technological advance and credits UAlbany Sematech.
  20. VCU beats Duke. Who else had played at our court and then gone on to beat someone really big in the NCAA in the same season? Did Bucknell go anywhere the year we beat them here before this season?
