Well, if we beat Maine tomorrow and Vermont beats Binghamton, we’d be tied at 7-5 with Bing. All we have to do is root for someone to stop UMBC’s 5 game win streak. They play Hartford Wed. Go Hawks!

Absolutely, what a good times to be playing Maine....need two periods of good offense and some good old-fashioned defense...standings and pride are important:

2021-22 Men's Basketball Standings
SCHOOL CONF CPCT. OVERALL PCT. STREAK
Vermont 10-0 1.000 18-4 0.818 W12
Binghamton 7-4 0.636 10-10 0.500 W2
UMBC 6-4 0.600 11-10 0.524 W5
UAlbany 6-5 0.545 10-13 0.435 W1
Stony Brook * 5-5 0.500 13-10 0.565 L3
New Hampshire 5-5 0.500 10-9 0.526 W1

Bad loss...

I understand the frustration , however it's OK.  Good teams don't lose this game.  We are not a good team. Mediocre teams don't lose this game at home . We are not Mediocre. We have overachieved this whole conference season.  We are not a good team.  Every win is a great win. But with this team I don't see any bad loses . We are not good enough.

I couldn't make this game at home as I was coaching another losing team tonight. Can anyone that was there tell me what type of energy the team had at halftime? Looks like we built a 10 pt lead then something happened to just stop the flow. I posted this in an earlier thread or two, but reading the body language of the UA players when they come out of the locker room at half time seems to be a pretty good predictor of how the game is going to end. We need a Fruscio type guy to fire them up.

Defense has been the savior of this team so far this season, but they allowed Maine to shoot 60% from three? Was this poor defense on our part or were they just going full Pancake Thomas on us?

Thankfully Maine can't make foul shots or the score would have been way worse.

This team is clearly mediocre in conference play. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if they go out and beat vermont Saturday. That’s the ultimate definition of mediocre. Give them some credit for what they’ve done leading up to this game. It was 100% a bad loss.
