lots of chatter this weekend about the stadium not being ready for the Spring Game which would be in May.

Brutus - any thoughts on the timeline as of now? On track, behind, etc...?

It would be so great to have a dry run during the spring game.

Brutus has been MIA! Don't leave us hanging, Brutus!

Construction is on schedule, but an early finish in spring is unlikely at this time.

The whole stadium might not be complete, but will the turf be ready and

will the team have the opportunity to practice on it starting with Spring workouts/practice?

They probably won't be able to use the stadium until there is a Certificate of Occupancy issued which I don't think they'll be able to get if its still an active construction site.

Who knows though, maybe they can get a temporary CO or something of the like if there is only interior work being done.

Correct, you cannot get a CO on an active site. It has to be substantially complete from a safety perspective and that usually means when there are only punch list items left. Contractually and Safety complete are two different things in many instances.

Someone has done their homework.

Looks today like they are also prepping for the support underneath the lower deck. I think the small wooden boxes on the hill are concrete forms as well.

They're also working to finish the concrete work on the right side of the lower level and taking the forms off of the field wall.

From the Office of Facilities Management

Project Timeline: Start: April 2012

Estimated Completion for all venues: Fall 2013

Project Progress as of October 10, 2012:

The Athletic Field Repairs and Improvements continue with work on two of the three project venues — Recreation Field (adjacent to tennis courts) and the Multi-Purpose Stadium (southeast of SEFCU Arena).

The Rec Field Turf and fencing is installed, with sports lighting coming in Spring 2013. The contractor is completing the construction punch list and seeded grass areas around the turf continue to take hold.

At the Stadium venue, the contractor is excavating for the building structures and seating bowl areas. Formwork and concrete pours continue on a daily basis. Structural steel is anticipated to begin in the next four to six weeks (weather dependant).
