Recruiting - 2014

Recommended Posts

Well, with our new B-School building, familiarity with the City Rocks, family-like team atmosphere, and the list of teams who have no hope of making the NCAA's, I'd like to think we are very strong contenders. In fact, I think Hofstra (not making the tourney any time soon), Middle Tenn is a terrible school, Valpo (was just at their campus last summer, it's Siena-like but in the middle of NOWHERE Indiana, Tenn-Chattanooga (bad academics) are all less enticing than UA.

Boise State--because of their strong team--would be the clear competitor IMHO.

That said, i think he could make a more dramatic impact at UA. His addition solidifies our front-line. If we can get one of Ede (head wrapped around D-1 hoops and not "City ball" or Odunisi (medical clearance but seems like a great kid and team player) to replace Gary...we will be challenging for the league again.

If any of the PG's coming in (Baker, Wells, or Singletary) can pick-up the game quickly...we'll be fine with Hooley and that person.

Overall, we have a great shot of making it again...

Looks like it's not just bigs that we're looking at. Apparently we have interest in Ian Chiles..a 6'1" graduate transfer from IUPUI. Averaged 15.8ppg this past season.. so he's obviously a scorer..but did that on more than 14 shots per game. Was named 2nd Team All-Summit League. He's also getting looks from BCS-level programs.

This site lists Marcus Freeman, a 6-8 JUCO PF as a high interest prospect.

Also has offers from Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, FGCU, Hofstra, Marshall and Washington State

Freeman is visiting Coastal Carolina this weekend. He sounds like an imposing presence in the post - 6'8 and 250.

Speaking of imposing presence, Jon Horford has announced he's leaving Michigan and would be eligible next season. It's wayyy too much to ask but hey, you gotta ask.
