Rodger saying Albany did a good job defensively. I don't know how you say that when you give up 40 in a half.

Ten turnovers not good.

I have long given up thinking that Rodger knows what he is talking about ... he is a paid promoter of UAlbany Sports, and he is not a very good at that.

In the end, there was no defense was played tonight by either team.  Another bad start by UAlbany and we were unable to but a strong run together to overcome UMBC good start,

The bottom 3 teams in the AE defensively are UMBC, UA, then Bing (before tonight's games) but UMBC has the best offense (analytically so far).

I'm afraid that our players won't have a chance to lose a first round playoff game this year.  Maybe we can beat Vermont with the last game of the year so we can be one of the only teams in the country that end their season on a win.

Listen.  They played hard . When your one of the 30 worse teams in the country, that's the only positive I can think of.....

Gave up 92 points, committed 21 personal fouls with a technical foul and 13 turnovers.... maybe playing smart is better idea then playing hard

Albany's defensive efficiency after this defensive debacle stands at 120 in the AE...UBMC was able to score 1.28pts per possession...that is shockingly bad.

I honestly have no idea why they are this bad on defense...I didn't see this game as I was out, but anyone have any sense why they are this brutal on the defensive end? The defense is completely non-existent. Is this just a stupid stupid team with zero awareness, is the effort not there? What gives? They seem to be getting worse by each passing game. I'm sure coaches are seeing on the tape where they can be exploited on that end. Why is DK not making adjustments?

Here is my issue.  I'm starting to think Killings does not have a game plan.  Most of the time I don't know specifics about a team and talk in general.

However , this game we all know Doles.  He is soft. Not bad but soft.  He is not going to back you down, or beat you off the dribble . He is going to shoot the midrange jumper or 3 pointer. He was on the team all last year doing this . And yet he continued to do it last night and be effective.  The fact the players did not know this shows their lack of understanding or the coaches lack of understanding.  Either way it's extremely alarming.

To me the most alarming thing isn't offense...they probably have enough offense to be competitive in the AE. To me the most alarming thing by far is the defensive side of the ball. Defense is mostly effort and IQ. And that's scary...you can stay in a lot of games if you play defense. This team gets worse on that end each and every game.

I pretty much agree with everything. But doubtful about your comment that UA probably has enough offense to compete? Tonight they scored 83 pts because umbc's defensive is/was almost as bad as UA's. Against good defensive teams, IMHO UA will revert to NOT scoring enough. I am afraid UA is just as bad offensively as defensively. Pick a reason:  low basketball IQ on BOTH ends of the court; BAD coaching; lack of talent; and more. Probably all of the above and more. Not sure I'd include effort as a reason UA is SO bad; for the most part I think the kids are really trying hard {maybe trying too hard??}.
