This team right now as constructed is limited size inside and no consistent shooting...Killings is running out of excuses. Can't have a bunch of athletes none of whom can make a shot. Constantly getting crushed on the boards. Good 30 minutes and then wheels fell off...this team has potential.

The loss is overshadowed today by a much bigger loss. Neely is this team's best player; his loss will relegate this team to bottom half of the AE. Beagle is as good as advertised...if he sticks around will be an animal in this league.

Stormo and some of the others did seem to bully him down low a lot. It almost seemed a conscious effort to bring the ball to him. Maybe get him in foul trouble or see if he'd crumble on the big stage. He definitely held his own. He needs a bit more muscle, but you are right. He will be a beast if he stays long term.

I ended up skipping around and glad I did. Watching that lead evaporate would have pissed me off.

Man, UA sports has fallen off a cliff (the sports that matter - no offense to the smaller sports that no one cares about). It's no longer fun to watch the games or follow the teams. Same crap, different day.

@Dane Pound, is it possible to get an actual 'table' plug-in for the board?

Nice first half!

That didn’t age well. The second half was like watching a slow motion replay of a train running off of the tracks. You know it’s going to happen again, but your mind refuses to accept the inevitable result.

MY 2¢. First if all I was 2 miles away @ the Albany Symphony. A very pleasant and relaxing evening with my wife. ON the way home, I caught the last two minutes and the first thing I heard was UA blew a 16 pt. lead after a 9 ½ minute scoring drought {what else is new 😉}. At home I decided to watch the first half to see the good at least. First thing I noticed the stream was so choppy, I thought my tv/wifi/something remiss. Glanced @ the blog found out it was not me. The second thing I found out {already knew of course} THIS WAS NOT A NEUTRAL SITE GAME! This "revelation" came when the lcc announcer, announced to the color man that even though UA has had some success lately, when he played for lcc, they regularly kicked UA's a$$. Don't know who was the a$$ kicker was; I muted the "unbiased neutral" site announcer.

So really have nothing new to add, other than what is already written here. On a positive note only 12 TO's in a very HOSTILE, I mean neutral atmosphere.

I thought year 3 was neutral? Year 1 at MVP, year 2 at new SEFCU and year 3 neutral.

This year was neutral .... which I now realize neutral meant on the financial side .... how is playing at MVP, a neutral site .... another Benson boneheaded idea

This is my problem with Killings.  ZERO game plan in game.  Literally 18-0 run...shots will stop falling at some point, we are shooting 21 threes...outrebounded by 11 partially because of this...

...he NEEDS TO COACH.

Agree 100%. Plus OK to experiment and look at a lot of guys early in the year. But this is NOT the game to do it in. He needs to figure out WHAT/WHO he has, and live and die and coach the hell out of those into the best they can be. Some should just sit permanently {As I often say, I'm not a coach; but it's pretty obvious who are not DI ready.} I know he is a new coach and we must give him some slack; but last year I felt he spent too much of the year experimenting with line-ups and NOT really coming up with a consistent offense or defense. And as you say NOT making the necessary in game adjustments. Being INCONSISTENT with long draughts both O & D, pretty much defined UA BB last year. So far this year, I'm seeing the same thing??????

So I rewatched the entire game last night. Looks like the shot clock that I was questioning wasn't really an issue. It appeared that Jackson's crazy layup may have caught the rim, but you couldn't tell on the TV and the time stamp on the ESPN app was not right as the basket appeared to be at 3:14 not 3:08 like the play by play states. Not enough evidence to overturn without a better view of the layup.

Speaking of rewatching the game, I found the exact spot that the game changed. UA was up 53-41 and Davis came up lame with a cramp or something and had to come out of the game. UA scored again on a sweet Amica layup after a beautiful no look pass from Edmead then UA didn't score again for about 9 minutes (Drumgoole Free throw) and didn't get another actual field goal until Reddish made a layup another 2-3 minutes later.

Davis was the catalyst for the UA run and when he came out with the apparent injury or cramp or whatever it was: the wheels fell off. Davis would come back, but he wasn't himself. He was limping around, not as quick, and was a liability on both sides of the court. Killings (and/or someone on the bench) should have realized that and not let him play.

Patel had been an Energizer bunny and was everywhere on the court in the first half. He may have made some mistakes, but I was impressed with the energy he provided. He barely saw the floor in the second half. Maybe he should have been on the floor instead of an injured Davis.

Take the above, throw in a few questionable calls that helped fuel the crowd and suck the air out of UA and the tide had turned with no chance to reverse it. By questionable calls I am mentioning things like the shot clock I mentioned before and an obvious charge by Stormo that was called a block. Defenders feet were set but he was knocked off his feet by contact, regained balance then knocked over again. If he just fell on first contact it probably would have been called a charge but because he stayed on his feet the second part of the charge could appear at game speed that he wasn't set. Even the Siena homer commentators on TV thought it should have been a charge.

No blame on the refs. Calls like those could go either way. It wasn't the bad call that caused the issue, it was the environment that they created and UAs failure to respond to it.

Last comment on the game for now: I love Beagle's game and enthusiasm. He has the potential to be one of UAs all-time greats should he stay for 4 years. While I don't want him to change his style play on the court, I'd like him to actually win something and prove himself before showing his attitude. Trash talking is an amazingly fun part of basketball, but him barking at the Siena bench after getting fouled while making a layup before completing the three point play to put UA up 16 (50-34) didn't age well, as that was right around the Davis turning point I mentioned above. Yes it was in the heat of the moment, and I'd never want less energy from him, I'd rather save the trash talk until you've proven yourself. That moment may have fired up the Siena team as much as the Davis injury/cramp doused UAs flames.

Any news on Neely?

In today's TU post-game story

Killings said after the game that the injury could be “severe.”
He didn’t have an update Sunday, but said Neely would be evaluated Monday morning at the Bone and Joint Center.
