Game #21: 1/19/23 - 7PM vs Binghamton

Make it 1 of 17 for Drumgoole.  Son, you have to stop shooting if it's not your night.  Only 2 assists, you could have focused on setting up teammates. DK, did you speak to the young man at all during the game?  Is that not what coaches do?

Drumgoole plays 39 out of 40 minutes. I kept waiting for our genius coach to take him out for 1-2 minutes, get a breather, refocus, and go back in. It might of helped. Maybe. But no, sits 1 minute the entire game. Meanwhile the team goes 2 of 19 from 3. Pretty good 1st half before reality set in in the 2cd.

Killings needs to be fired

Killings has three years left on his contract; I just do not see Benson firing him after the season.  The dumpster fire will continue in the off season as most of the assistant coaches move on, players enter the portal and/or disappear.  That being said, if something significant and/or material comes out of the lawsuit against Killings, Benson and the University, Killings could find himself without a job.

I watched the first half and then fell asleep. Checked the final around midnight. My thought is that this would be advisable throughout the remainder of the season. Or perhaps forgetting there is a game would be even better.

I erred on the side of caution last night ... decided to stay home, stay comfortable, and had a whisky.

Random thoughts:

I’m still shocked at how bad we are at shooting a basketball.  An important skill in the game of basketball.

Beagle outscored the other 4 starters combined.  17-15.

The other 4 starters played 121 minutes and (again) scored 15 points.

These same 4 made 6 baskets and committed 6 TO’s.

I thought we were supposed to play up tempo?

Not that Patel is the answer but as guys are going 1-17 and others offer up ZERO on the offensive end (Jackson) why was he bolted to the bench.

I worry about teams realizing that it’s easy to get into Beagles head.

Kellog and Ketner a combined 1 minute of play?

I haven't watched a game since the first 2 or 3. Usually cause I forget (and I make the game threads lol) or because I'm doing something else and can't be bothered.

There are still games being played?

I saw a clip of the post game news conference of Coach Killings ...  my feeling that the season, the team and other issues have drained him ... emotionally and physically .... I cannot imagine he is getting much support from Mark Benson and Vic Ceglas

Now, we know why Killings looked drained.  Now the question can Coach Killings coach effectively while defending himself?  While the University stated they have dealt with the situation, I believe that Mark Benson and Vic Cegles will put distance between themselves and their coach and certainly avoid commenting on this situation and the civil lawsuit.

I haven't saw any difference in his coaching over the last 2 years.
