Recruiting - 2016

Interesting Minnesota pipeline with Wheeler Baker (who transferred to North Dakota) and McKinley. I know McKinley and Baker know each other thus the decommit recommit stuff. Wonder if Baker knows Jackson and thus the similar schools? McKinley had an offer at North Dakota as well.

I had heard early on that the Baker transfer and McKinley recommit stuff were not related.

Interesting. I guess what I heard was just rumor. I guess it seemed true because of the similar schools with offers and they are from the same area. It made sense.

I always forget when Abe Lincoln said that I shouldn't believe everything typed on the internet :)

Anyway: outside of watching him in warm-ups, does anyone know how McKinley is liking Albany during his redshirt year? If his experience has been positive maybe he could help land Jackson.

We have offered Godwin Boahen. Interesting 3 star prospect out of Canada. Getting interest from Louisville though.

The interest from Lousville is interesting considering his other offers. Looks like he would be a real nice get for us.

We've also offered Jack White, a 6'7 SF from Australia. Also a 3 star prospect. I like where this is going.

Does anyone know how many scholarships are open for next year? Is there 3, 4, or 5? We know that Hooley, Singletary, and Sanders lose eligibility. I hope that Travis Charles will be back as i feel he could be a beast come the end of AE play and in the playoffs, and I guess Chaz Brown wont be back. I will guess there are 4?

With Jenkins and Walker, I guess there are 2 more?

I am still rooting for Jakub Mijakowski will sign. I know people who met the family and they seem great. The kid seems to be able to shoot from anywhere on the court and at 6-8 he could be a star in the AE if not immediate impact like Cremo. I assume he will go higher, but I have to assume that Albany looks attractive to any recruit that isn't going to a top 25 team.

I heard Dallas will be able to graduate this spring, so he may move on as well, but that's not a sure thing.

I didn't see this posted anywhere else but according to what Brown said on Wyland's radio show this week, Dallas will be on the team next year during his graduate year.

I know a lot of people are predicting a big drop off with the loss of 3 great all-conference players, but I am just as excitefor next year as I was this year. I don't see that much of a drop, especially if it's true Dallas will be back. That's great news.

The above said, there is still ball to be played this season. Let's send SBU to the NIT :)

According to Verbal Commits we've offered shooting guard Patrick Rooks from Chipola College. Rooks originally went to Clemson and was injured his freshman year before transferring to Chipola.

I just don't want to see the Australia pipeline close. I would this Rowley and Hooley can be great recruiting tools in Australia and the Pacific Rim long after they have been gone.

Speaking of Australia:

- White is considered the #5 prospect in the country

- Have interest apparently in Mitch McCarthy: http://ausahoops.com/rankings/class-of-2016/mitch-mccarthy/

- Have an offer out on Myles Cherry: http://ausahoops.com/rankings/class-of-2016/myles-cherry-3/

I heard White will be really hard to get (as in, he just visited Duke hard to get), the other two, limited/no interest from UA's side.
