I'm sure they'll go as long as they can into the winter. The digging will need to get done before the ground freezes, but I don't think that should be an issue if they start soon. And if we have a winter like last year, I'm sure they'll work the whole winter.

They are still saying a finish date by May. McElroy confirmed that on Wednesday.

As long as the foundations are laid and local work...yes, you can continue construction as weather permits. You are not going to be bolting steel together in the winter. Theoretically...the steel can go up pretty quickly.

The important stuff is to get any of the cast-in-place (CIP) concrete in before the really cold temps. The current schedule calls for CIP through November and structural steel through December. Remember any schedule is based on weather conditions, delays on any parties involved in the project, procurement issues, etc.

You should see a significant change in the construction activities within the next two weeks.

Hey Brutus, I have no idea how you are involved with the construction but I just wanted to thank you for all the great information you have provided in this thread. Keep it coming!!!! THANKS!!!!!!!!

Is the rec field 100% completed? If so, can someone post a few pics?

This portion of the overall Athletics project is not at 100% yet - there is the sports lighting system that has yet to be installed, construction punchlist to be be complete and obtaining a Certificate of Compliance from the University's Code Enforcement Officer. There is a possibility that the field may be opened prior to the lighting system install, but that has yet to be determined.

And construction continues at the Western Ave and Washington Ave entrances, scheduled completion 8/24, the day the students arrive.

Purple path extension from Liberty Terrace to Collins Circle has the same due date.
