Nothing to chuckle about....Brown did this as well.

Oh....so serious....I was thinking what could happen in the life of recruit....the life of a coach...and a program in just 3 years....perhaps the chuckle came from the satisfaction of watching (in person) the Great Dane Men's Lacrosse over the UMass Minutemen Lacrosse (19th vs 13th)....I am still chuckling

Not clear what year this kid is so for now will put it here.

Just a side note, Skillings plays for Roman Catholic in Philly. One of DK’s new assistants has been his HS coach. That can’t hurt.

I don't take hiring a recruit's high school coach as a step in the right direction. Hopefully that's not why it was done but I guess we'll see.

Just a reminder, a JUCO transfer (Sullivan County Community College) came to Albany 20 years ago along with his SCCC coach...the coach Will Brown

My point wasn’t that they hired the coach in order to get the recruit, but that the coach, once hired, can recommend and have some pull in getting, a recruit from his former HS gig.

No you need to hire the players dad like the Mobley brothers at USC.

In addition, to the tution, room and board and other incidentals, how about paying a salary or stipend to the student - athletes....seems to be head that way

Generally speaking agree.  However, he is a HIGHLY qualified coach...HIGHLY.  Perfect fit and a next jump up type of role for him.  The hiring...for whatever the reason...is more than ok with me.
