Recruiting - 2024

I always say this this time of year, but I really do like the roster as it's constructed so far considering there are still 2 spots left.

Being able to make it a cohesive unit is the test.

Looking forward to seeing who fills out the roster.

Well, it's a PG...hard to get excited with this coach losing like it's his job but maybe he can play.

TU Article says he prefers playing OFF the ball? Probably still need a true Point? Guard heavy already. Maybe find a big or two even if only for defense and rebounding or as a project???

Don't get this roster construction in the past few days.  Let's see what DK has planned...but right now it is super heavy at the two.  I get having a backup for Marshall but unless he's moving to the point, it seems like a bunch of kids at the two.  We need a PG and a Center with experience.

Agreed. That's why I pointed out the 2 roster spots remaining. Would love to see that 7 foot Australian kid and a point guard.

Another scholarship just given out.  I will explain more when the roster is complete, however there is no way in hell this roster has the talent of last year.  No way.

Projecting who is going to stay and who will come has become impossible.

The days of a student-athlete committing to UAlbany in their junior year or in the autumn of their senior year are over for practical purposes.

Yep, this is why I stopped updating. I'll update the list before the season when the dust settles.

College basketball reminds me of minor league baseball.  Can someone tell me the last player that played at Albany freshman to senior year?

Probably someone like Trey Hutcheson.

6-8 wing from Turkey. Or 6-7….one site has him as one of the top rated prep school prospects out of New England. We shall see…if he’s that good it’ll be a one and done anyway.

That good? He had 2 D1 scholarships, all offered last week. This team on paper will not win 10 games.

Once he gets coached up by the Wizard of Westmere he should do fine…..

(and I know that technically Broadview is not in Westmere, but it sounds better than Western Avenue which is now Bob Ford Way anyway. Only old timers will get the wizard reference….)

So we still need a big and a 1.
