Along the lines of priorities... Texas put athletics on their priority list, regardless if it's a high or low priority.

NY never even put athletics on the list.

Finally, some in SUNY have taken action to better their athletic departments. For God's sake, if you're going to have athletics at your major university centers, take some pride and do it right. Or don't have athletics. Athletics is also a direct reflection of its university or college.

Over the past decades or even century, I'd venture to guess that Texas has had more of a 'balance' than NY.

And if we single out the educational side of things, TX doesn't rank all that bad.

As df points out, they are commonly 'regional' in nature... so the expenditure isn't all that excessive.

We have already gained significant exposure just jumping to D1, building a mini, junior stadium & jff & others, and now moving to the CAA. Positive exposure and a competitive athletic department & programs boosts the value of my degree. Too bad athletics wasn't put on the list as a priority a few decades ago.

How do you take a pic like this even, I don't believe there is any structure there at that height to take a picture from so how unless someone skydived.

I haven't seen the Goodyear blimp around here lately. Somebody have a drone we don't know about.

Several people @ yesterdays lacrosse game were talking about the missing visitor stands @ BFF. Any one in the know with an update?

Also mentioned was some incongruity that a single "missing bolt" could cause those stands to be shut down for a game last year? Can a single bolt render a whole set of bleachers unsafe?

It was code enforcement that shut it down, not the athletic department.

I know that; but it does not answer either question. Was it more than a "bolt" situation and more importantly what is happening about replacing what was there?
