Different game . Same old story.  Defense was boarder line excellent.  Offense is a failure. Cannot win games scoring consistently in the 50's or low 60's.

But they play hard and I will give Killings this year to recruit to get "his" guys in here to turn this team around.

I heard the "clunk" back in the Capital District.....Ted Lasso was heard saying....must have left the "Mentality" sign back Albany.....how is scoring less then 65 points in every game going to bring more then a handful of wins....well UA1882.... whether you like it or not .... this team belongs to Killings... all summer I heard how proud he was of the players they recruited and retained...no "*" for that...keeping my fingers crossed.....

And he’s probably still proud of his players. Teams played 8/11 games on the road. He could have scheduled a D3 to make that record not look as bad and inflate those stats

Well, I’ll just say this: today’s game, to me, proves that the BC game was indeed a mirage. Pretty good D, poor, inconsistent O wins how many games? Poor start, we come back because of our D and some temporary, new found O, and then the O settles into reality and......we lose. Now 3-8 and this IS CK’s team. IF this team could score 60-65 a game for the rest of the year I would take my chances on a good conference record. But, as we saw today, that’s probably not going to happen. Is 11 games a good enough sample size? I think so.

Gotta repeat myself from earlier threads. I do love the defensive intensity from this team. They force turnovers, switch well, and put great pressure on the ball, but something needs to change on offense. Killings spent the summer talking about playing fast and pushing a higher octane type pace. Maybe it's the make up of the team not being able to play at the high pace he wanted to, so he had to adjust? Right now it looks like we are back to the Will Brown type grind it out style? I'm ok with that as strong defense can keep you in almost every game, and if we don't have the players that can put it in the hole then it's probably the best strategy.

The higher scoring higher paced teams seem to attract more casual fans and pack the arena better, but winning ugly can do that as well. Losing ugly low scoring games kills attendance.

Give him at least a full recruiting cycle...Amica was expected to be lightning quick and I'm sure we would have run way more with him.

He doesn't have the horses.

The next recruit Killing needs to get is a PG. And it can't be a freshman. We don't have 1 period . I know this is not new news but our point guards are terrible . Can't rely on Amica either.  He is always hurt.

Agreed....I would argue he need 2...one a transfer and another freshman to groom. Amica may be ok but he's lost two years and who knows if he'll ever be healthy.

Understood, and I'm still in the camp of I like the direction he is going in. I had too high expectations for year 1, but frankly I do not want to make any concessions in expectations till we still what conference play looks like.
