I was at the campus today and took some pictures. One of the field goal posts went up today. From where we were you could easily see the purple outline around the white numbers, looked good. The yellow and purple really pop on the field.

On a side note the complex got a shout out by a UA alum (Peter Brusoe) at the Rockefeller Awards dinner last night. In his speech he told Pres Jones if the marching band needed a sax player that his younger brother was in, everyone clapped.. was good.

Wow, I love the photos of the turf down, stripes marked, end zones, etc, looking like a real football place . . . when will August ever get here?! I'm ready for some serious college football. And I know it must be well known by now, but somewhere I have missed it -- is this a multi-purpose field --i.e., for soccer, too?

Yes. I think (i didn't look yet) they are selling soccer season tickets on the website for in the new stadium.

Thanks MsGDG for the pictures. I got to see that first hand as well less than an hour before you posted this. I went to the basball game today which I think is the last Danes sporting event of this academic year on campus.

So I was thinking next game I see on campus should be in the new stadium.

While I am looking forward to it, I still don't want the summer to go by too fast :)

Your right Bob...the game was the last event on campus for this year. The baseball team is the last team playing.....next week it will be the conference championship. Last time the Danes were seeded third, they won the whole thing!

By the way, shout out to the university for putting the game on the Dane Zone and utilizing two commentators who actually knew something about the Danes players. Despite them losing, it was nice to be able to watch it.

The Office of Facilities Management finally put up a new progress report on May 1, with a few new pictures from that time.

"The Multi-Purpose facility continues to move towards a September completion date with the main press structure exterior metal panel system in place, interior partitions underway, erection of the Concourse Level walls where spectator support facilities will be located, ... Additional site work around the facility will begin once the construction field offices relocates closer to the soon-to-be renovated Track & Field venue.

The Recreation Field Turf is available for University use. The sports lighting system at that location is undergoing final wiring and testing in the next few weeks.

The renovations to the Track & Field venue ... includes a new nine-lane track surface, reconditioning of the natural turf infield for field events, and a installation of a hammer throw facility south of the existing softball field.

The last set of pictures added include a view from Stuyvesant (Dutch) tower http://www.albany.ed...eticfields.html

and from Press Level
