Killings will be relieved of his duties after the final four (Rumored). Championship game Monday night so I would expect an announcement Tuesday or the latest Wednesday

I don't find this rumor plausible, what's so special about waiting for after Final Four is the investigation is done unless the AD or Pres out of town to fire him. And if the investigation isn't done...why the hard date?

Waiting until after the FF makes a lot of sense. After the games are done everyone except the CBB junkies turn their attention elsewhere. It's one of the only benefits of being a small program. If the rumors were flying around about this going on at a P6 it would be everywhere. If you announce the firing this week for the reason everyone is saying it becomes a national story picked up by everyone on CBB's biggest week.

Will say considering the AD hasn't even given a couple no comment quotes tells me he's gone also. There were obviously some big issues with how this whole thing went down. You're not this quiet unless you're hiding several mistakes.

Fair point about all the eyes of the CBB world on the end of the season.

We have beaten this thing to death but I believe that's what a message board should do. Two things that continue to remain on my mind:

1) I'm not in HR, at least one of you are, but how can a coach be allowed to coach after a complaint of physical contact? Remove the player but not the coach? Is that the norm because that's odd?

2) In this day in age when a player will put his name in the portal for playing 19 minutes and not 20, why is not a single scholarship non senior player in the portal? Seems so odd to me as well.  This could change at anytime but I thought it would have happened by now.

Especially those that DK brought over himself (i.e..Reddish, Neely)...

There was a study i read that over 58 % of players in the portal do not end up either playing ball at the D1 level or sign with a team at all.  It's really a massive risk. Look at Jeff Undercuffler as an example.  A potential draft pick was being discussed to a kid who can't find a team.

Entering the portal no longer means you are leaving. From my understanding, normal protocol in today's world is an end of season one on one with the player and coaching staff. At this meeting the players status of his scholarship and anticipated role for the following season is discussed along with feedback on what the player needs to work on in the off season of they want to play a bigger role. For some players, this might include if their scholarship is being renewed. If a player wants to test the portal, this is where they would get feedback on of they would be welcomed back if the portal didn't provide the offer they player was looking for.

Maybe DKs suspension has delayed these meetings, and players are still waiting to see if he is returning and to have those meetings before testing the waters.

Horton and Doles probably know they would be welcomed back based on their PT this year so they were willing to take the risk. If Luke was the player with the altercation it may not matter to him.

Anyway, while this whole situation is terrible, at least it is providing stuff to pontificate about and conversation about the team this time of year.
